Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott will let a person use a taser on him--for the right price.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department Foundation is auctioning off the right to use one of the weapons on Lott late this month. (The sheriff, presumably, has agreed to this.)

The event is part of the department's annual golf tournament fundraiser at Woodlands Country Club.

For the opportunity to use the weapon on Lott, a person must make a minimum bid of $1,000. But that's not all--for every thousand dollars the bid raises, that's another second that the sheriff will be tasered.

If you're not into hitting a public official with electrical currents, there are plenty of other things to enjoy, including golf, door, prices, and food.

For more information on the tournament, and how you can register, go to the Richland County Sheriff's Department Foundation page.

The Richland County Sheriff's Foundation is a group of citizen volunteers who work to equip deputies with tools, resources and equipment that is often not obtainable through normal budgetary means.
