Columbia, SC (WLTX) - If a picture is worth a thousand words, then for an innovative team of marketing gurus, a t-shirt may be worth a couple thousand bucks.
The team at iwearyourshirt.com started in 2009 wearing a different shirt each day that promoted a client on every social media platform imaginable.
"That's kind of what we're going," said the groups president Jason Sadler, "working with companies to create interesting social media marketing campaigns and just have some fun."
Fifty-thousand Twitter followers later, the team traded tees for a decorated Tahoe they're driving on a two week seven city tour. The tour promotes the company that uses blue touch pads to put restaurant goers against each other in trivia competition.
"We work with companies you've never heard of like Tri Flow Bike Lube," said Sadler. "I mean no one has ever heard of it but it's a product that has a community, has a niche, and people love it. We're a good fit because we have fun."
While the blue player pads offer good family fun, their brand recognition is minimal. That's where the team at iwearyourshirt.com comes in.
"It's a whole strategy built around a campaign and that's what I think companies are really going to start doing a lot more of is you have to hit everybody at all of these different angles or they're never going to see it," said Sadler.
The tour stopped at Buffalo Wild Wings off Harbison in Columbia Wednesday night for food, drinks, and fun.
"It doesn't matter where we are because our community is everywhere," said Sadler. "We just try and do really unique stuff. We're not stuck in one mode."
