Richland County, SC (WLTX) - The Richland County coroner has identified the man killed on North Main Street in Columbia Sunday. 

Coroner Gary Watts says 48-year-old Michael L. Davis died of multiple gunshot wounds.

According to officials, a passerby flagged down a CPD officer shortly before 3:30am Sunday at the 3800 block of North Main Street. When the officer arrived, the victim was lying on the road.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate.
