Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner apologized on Wednesday for his recent arrest.

Turner was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with driving under the influence and speeding. The arrest came just hours after the Falcons beat the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

"I'd like to apologize to Mr. Blank, Thomas Dimitroff, Mike Smith and the whole Falcons organization and the fans out there for the situation that I'm in right now," Turner said. "It was a bad decision on my part."

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Turner was pulled over shortly after 4 a.m. (ET) Tuesday, when a Gwinnett County officer clocked a 2012 Audi going 97 mph in a 65-mph zone on I-85 northbound near Indian Trial Road.

Turner told the officer he consumed about five shots at renowned Atlanta strip club Magic City when was arrested, according to the report.

According to Gwinnett County Jail records, Turner was booked into the jail just after 5 a.m., and was released about two hours later. Bond for the DUI charge was $2,006 and bond for the speeding charge was $173.

Despite the arrest, Turner plans to play this Sunday against San Diego.

"Nobody has told me that I'm not playing so, I'm just going to prepare like I am (playing,)" Turner said.

Turner is not sure why he didn't call a driver or limo service to take him home.

"Any time that you're in a situation like this you don't want this to happen," Turner said. "You try to keep a clean slate throughout your whole life like everyone else. Unfortunately, this happened and I just have to move forward."

In two games this season, Turner has rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown.
