Greenville, SC (WLTX) A shelter dog in Greenville is looking for her forever home, but she has an ailment that requires her to eat in a high chair -- like a baby.
She was starving the first few weeks of her life until her condition was diagnosed.
Four month-old Starship, a collie mix, has a disorder called Megaesophagus, where her esophagus is dilated. This makes it hard to digest food, but propping this pooch up in a high chair helps things go down smooth.
"When people are around they're just like oh wow a dog in a high chair what's the problem here." "She doesn't have a problem. It's just who she is, " said Jennifer Henderson, adoptions counselor for the Greenville Animal Shelter.
Starship is looking for a home and if you're interested in adopting her, the Greenville company that made Starship's chair says it will make an adjustable one for her to use as she grows up.
If you are interested in adopting Starship, you can fill out an application through Animal Care at 328 Furman Hall road in Greenville.
If you would like to donate to the shelter's Second chance fund that helps dogs and cats like Starship, you can go to their website at Greenville Animal Care
