Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Broad River Bridge in Columbia has reopened after it was closed for several hours following a fatal collision.
The wreck happened around 3:45 a.m. at River Hill Circle and Broad River Road at the Broad River Bridge in Columbia. All lanes going in both directions were closed.
Three vehicles were involved in the wreck.
The Richland County Coroner's office has confirmed that 28-year-old Dawnyelle Sharpe died in the collision. Coroner Gary Watts says Sharpe was driving a Toyota Corolla that collided with another vehicle, and then hit a third vehicle.
Watts says Sharpe died at the scene.
Two passengers in Sharpe's car and the occupants of the other vehicles were taken to the hospital.
It's not clear yet what led up to the collision or if anyone was at fault. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
