Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A second suspect has been arrested in connection with an assault in Columbia's Five Points last weekend.
Benedict College police say 21-year-old John Cornelius Sumner was taken into custody Friday just before noon.
Sumner was wanted in connection with the assault of a man on Harden Street early Sunday morning.
Benedict police say Sumner was found in an off-campus apartment. A woman who they say was helping to hide him was also taken into custody.
Thursday, Columbia police announced they arrested 21-year-old Stanley McBride in the assault. Officers say he was arrested Wednesday on the campus of Benedict College.
Officers are still searching for 21-year-old Michael Jermel Kendrix.
Kendrix and Sumner are students at Benedict College.
Officers say the three men beat up 21-year-old Josh Bosworth early Sunday morning on Harden Street. Bosworth suffered a broken jaw during the incident.
