Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Just because the Gamecocks are on the road this weekend doesn't mean there isn't something to do in the Midlands.
"It's just a lot of fun," said Cathy Campbell.
There is always something going on in the Midlands on the weekend and this weekend is no exception.
Just to name a few, the Italian Festival on Main Street, Viva la Vista, and the Okra Strut in Irmo.
"Pizza the traditional pizza, lasagna and dessert, we try to give the people an experience that is really Italian," said Paolo Dallazorta.
If you are in the mood to experience a different culture then Main Street will be the spot for you.
"If they want great food then they want to stop by the Sons of Italy, Italian festival," said Carmella Roche.
But if Italian is not your thing, walk over to Gervais Street for Viva La Vista.
"It's 20 of the best restaurants in the Vista, they put together some of their signature dishes and sell them for tokens," said Brian Dukes.
Last year more than eight thousand people came out and this year they expect even more.
"I definitely think go see some other things, but come by the vista, hang out for a couple hours and have a blast."
Ok let's says downtown Columbia is not your thing you can head out to Irmo for the Okra Strut.
"The bands are great, looks like we are going to have wonderful weather weekend so we are really excited about it," said Cathy Campbell.
"Tomorrow we have the big parade, the arts and crafts, and food vendors and of course live music again."
No matter where you go it's something for the whole family.
