Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Orangeburg Department of Public Safety says a driver believed to be under the influence crashed into a house in Orangeburg County just after 1am Friday morning.
Corporal Krista Bailey says she was travelling south on John C. Calhoun Drive when she attempted to pull over 20-year old Will Mitchum for speeding. Officer Bailey says Mitchum refused to pull over, sped off and ran lights in an attempt to get away.
According to officials, Mitchum flew onto Cannon Bridge Road, hit a curb and smashed into a home.
DPS says three girls and their parents were inside the home, but were not seriously injured in the accident.
Mitchum was charged with DUI and Driving under a Suspended Licence from a prior DUI Charge.
