Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- For the entire month of October, the Lugoff-Elgin High School Volleyball Team is doing various projects to help raise money for Breast Cancer research and awareness.
Starting tomorrow night (Friday, Oct. 5th) both the varsity and junior varsity teams will be working as 'Car Hops' at the Sonic Drive In on Rt. 1 in Lugoff from 5PM - 8PM fundraising and selling Breast Cancer wrist bands.
A second Sonic Night will be conducted on Oct. 19th at the same location.
For all home games during the month of October, both teams will wear their Dig Pink Jerseys, as well as selling Breast Cancer t-shirts and other merchandise.
Then on October 13th the LGHS Volleyball Program will host a Dig Pink JV Jam Tournament, bringing in 20 teams from across the state. During the tournament they will be selling Breast Cancer merchandise, selling raffle tickets, and doing all they can to spread Breast Cancer awareness.
Also during the tournament, LGHS will recognize Breast Cancer survivors as well as remember those who lost their battle.
Last year the Lugoff-Elgin High School Volleyball teams raised over $2000 that they donated to the Side-Out Foundation, and their hope is to double that amount this year, with the community's help.
