GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Greenville teenager has died after being pulled from the Saluda River between Greenville and Pickens counties.
Officials say several boys were swimming in the river near the state Highway 124 bridge on Sunday afternoon. They say Jerimi Antwon Dendy disappeared about 4 pm. He was pulled from about 12 feet of water shortly before 5 pm and was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital. Officials say he died about 11 o'clock Sunday night.
Don Evett with the Pickens County Emergency Management Office says the river is only two or three feet deep in most places. But he says there are some deep holes.
