Columbia, SC (WLTX) - At the South Carolina State Fair there are a lot of shows to watch. Dale Jones juggles, but it's not your typical routine.

"I juggle tennis rackets; I play the bugle," said Jones. "I juggle flower pots."

Fifty-six-year-old Dale Jones has made juggling a career.

"I have been juggling since about 1972."

Some may say juggling isn't that hard--but try doing it with one hand as Dale does.

You see, when he was eight-years-old he fell off a tree and had a blood clot in his right arm.

"They actually wanted to amputate it but they did end up saving it. But I had to learn how to do everything with my left hand I was originally right handed. "

Twenty-five operations later, he learned how to juggle two balls in one hand in hopes to impress girls. He found out that juggling two balls wasn't that spectacular, leading him to try other things. "I learned how to use one hand and I juggle with my knee and foot," said Jones.

At times he can juggle up to five or six objects at a time.

"It's very, very difficult."

Not only does he perform at fairs, but he goes around the country speaking to people about how to never give up, no matter what obstacle is in your way.

"You can't ever give up, giving up is the only time that you actually fail. That's the only time. Failure is never fatal it is just part of the learning process, part of what you have to do to succeed. "

It's a career he says he will never stop loving.

"It's always interesting, every show is always interesting."
