Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- Richland County Deputies say a husband shot and killed his wife after a domestic dispute Monday morning. The coroner identifies the woman as 27-year-old Tacora Thomas. Deputies say her husband 41-year-old Dexter Lee Boulware is charged with murder and burglary.
Boulware had previously been arrested for criminal domestic violence and was out on bond.
Investigators received a call to a home in the 200 block of Thornfield Road in the Winslow subdivision around 10:30 a.m. That's where deputies say Boulware shot Thomas in the upper body. She died around 11:13 a.m. at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.
Deputies say Thomas was at the home with her mother when Boulware entered the home, shot Thomas and then fled to a relative's home where he was later arrested.
Deputy Curtis Wilson tells News19 that the sheriff's department has responded to several incidents at the address involving domestic violence. Deputy Wilson says Thomas called deputies Sunday over threatening text messages that they believe were sent by Boulware. Wilson adds Thomas had a restraining order against the suspect and they were in the process of separating.
Boulware is now in custody at the Richland County jail.
