SANTEE, S.C. (AP) - The Archaeological Society of South Carolina is celebrating a special event at Santee State Park to introduce families to the work done by archaeologists.
The society's 25th annual Archaeology Field Day is scheduled for Saturday. It includes artifact identification for people who bring examples of what they have found. It also includes demonstrations, exhibits, and activities for children to explain the prehistoric and historic occupations of South Carolina.
Admission for afternoon events is $5 for adults and $3 for children. An evening barbecue and lantern tour are also offered at additional cost.
