Fairfield Co, SC (WTLX) - Police searched for two missing North Carolina teens around a cell tower in Fairfield County for the second time Monday.

"I fell that this happens in movies," said Jackie Zigler, sister to missing teen Jake Zigler.  "You don't think this will happen to you."

Members of Jake Zigler and Ray Pierce's families spoke to the media Sunday.

"As far as we're concerned this is a search," said Ray Pierce, uncle to missing teen Ray Pierce.  "This is a search for two boys."

Fairfield County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Keith Lewis says one of the boys cell phones connected with a tower at mile marker 48 on I-77 the night they disappeared.

It's the last piece of evidence police have placing the teens at a certain location.

"The car hasn't been found and of course that's what we're really trying to find is that vehicle. I think that's our best lead to go after," said Lewis.  "We don't have any information or any evidence that they had an accident.  We're just trying to eliminate if they did have one."

The teens were said to be driving in a green Pontiac G6 on their way to Myrtle Beach.

"The reports of sightings in the Myrtle Beach area have been confirmed as false," said Kevin Ryan, a private investigator hired by the families.  "These sightings have been investigated by the families and law enforcement. They are false."
