Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Saturday afternoon the Home Depot's Sandhill location will do their part in a nation wide program to help military veterans transition into the civilian workforce.
Dubbed "Mission: Transition," Saturday's event includes job search strategies, resume optimization, and interview tips.
"Mission: Transition" is aimed at assisting servicemembers make that difficult transition into the civilian workforce, arming them with the knowledge and resources necessary to accomplish that task.
The Home Depot nationally employs over 35,000 veterans and active duty servicemembers, and the company recognizes the strong skills the military community has to offer. They also are aware of the challenges many face in marketing their abilities when daily military life is left behind as service men and women transition back into civilian life.
The company's human resources professionals, in collaboration with veteran associates, will conduct half-day sessions to provide everyone necessary search in most any industry or with most any employer. The workshops are open to any member of the military or veteran transitioning to any civilian career.
