Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police are searching for a suspect they say robbed two Dollar General stores and a fast-food restaurant.
Officers say the suspect robbed the Dollar General on South Beltline Boulevard and the Hardee's on Rosewood Drive last Thursday, and is believed to have robbed the Dollar General on Leesburg Road Tuesday.
Officers say on October 25, the suspect went into the Rosewood Hardee's, stood in line at the counter, and ordered a cheeseburger. As soon as the cash register opened, police say the suspect pulled a gun on the clerk, walked around the counter, and stole money.
Police say he then went to the Beltline Dollar General which is about three blocks away. Officers say he pulled out a gun and took candy bars and money from the register.
Investigators also believe he's connected to the robbery of the Leesburg Dollar General at 2:30 p.m. on October 30. According to the victim, the man walked up to the counter and pretended to buy candy. When the register opened, he pointed a gun at the clerk and stole cash.
In all three cases, the suspect appeared to be wearing the same clothes.
Witnesses told police the robber got into a Champagne color, 4-door sedan and left the scene.
