GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Greenville woman has died after she was hit by an SUV while raking leaves in her yard.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill says the driver of a Mercury SUV lost control and swerved into 77-year-old Christine Domina's yard just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Dill says the SUV driver had been closely following another vehicle and over-corrected, hit a tree and landed on Domina.
Dill says Domina had been working in the yard with her husband, who saw the vehicle coming and yelled to his wife to run. Dill says the husband was able to get out of the way, and his wife died several hours later at a hospital.
The state Highway Patrol is investigating.
