WATERLOO, S.C. (AP) - A man and his girlfriend have been arrested in the shooting death of a 65-year-old Waterloo man.
Laurens County sheriff's deputies say 46-year-old Phillip Kenneth Hollingsworth was arrested Thursday. Early that morning, deputies say Hollingsworth shot and killed Bill Ardis in the head with a shotgun.
Authorities say Hollingsworth had worked for Ardis' roofing company and was living with him at the time of the shooting.
Sheriff Ricky Chastain says Hollingsworth and his girlfriend had been out together and possibly had a fight with Ardis.
Hollingsworth turned himself in Thursday afternoon and was charged with murder, kidnapping, grand larceny and weapons possession. His girlfriend, Shayla Gaines, has also been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
It wasn't known if they had attorneys.
