USC Basketball Team Loses Two Players

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- USC basketball Head Coach Frank Martin announced that two of his players won't be on the hardwood this afternoon.

The NCAA determined freshman forward Laimonas Chatkevicius was receiving "impermissible benefits" from his host family before enrolling at the university. He will not play the first six games of the season.

In addtion, walk-on freshman forward Brian Steele has been suspended from the team for violating athletic department policy.

The Gamecocks take on Milwaukee for their season opener today at 3 p.m.
