Tech Manufacturer Brings 25 New Jobs to Lexington

Lexington, SC (WLTX) -- Avtec, Inc. is an advanced manufacturer of communications technology, will bring 25 new jobs and invest more than $6.1 million in a new 46,000 square foot facility in Lexington.

A new technology based business park is in the planning and development stages near South Lake Drive in Lexington, and along with Avtec, Inc., will host two additional technology based companies. 

Avtec, Inc.'s announcement of their new facility means 25 new jobs will come to the Lexington area, along with additional local payroll of more than $1 million. The company is held in high regard in the aviation, railway, government, and utilities industries, known for producing quality communication technologies.

The Town of Lexington says there is an additional 35 acres in the new business park, and the goal of the town is to create a full-fledged industry corridor within the Town of Lexington.

News 19 spoke by phone to Avtec, Inc.'s Director of Marketing, Tiffany Rushton, who says the new facility will be located 11 miles from their current Gilbert property, so that means their current employees will all transfer with them next year once construction is complete. 

In addition to keeping on all employees, the new building will include a new training center for their customers, which will bring in up to 50 people monthly, which will significantly impact the economy in the Lexington area by way of hotel and restaurant revenue.
