Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County deputies have arrested two men they say used a wheelchair to make off with meat and fish from a grocery store.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Cory Prophet and 63-year-old Leroy Henry Boykin and have charged them with shoplifting.
Officers say back on November 6, the pair entered the IGA store in East Camden. According to investigators, surveillance video shows Boykin is in a wheelchair and Prophet is pushing a grocery cart full of items, including meat and fish.
Deputies say the men moved to what they believed was a secluded part of the store. Surveillance cameras captured video of Boykin getting up out of the wheelchair and putting items under the seat.
Officers say the video shows Boykins sitting back down, and Prophet and him leaving the store together and getting into a car outside.
Deputies say the men returned to the store on November 9th, but according to officers, left when they noticed the store manager was watching them. Law enforcement was called to the scene and pulled their vehicle over. Inside, officers say they found meat and fish they believe was taken from another store.
