Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A Richland County company has announced plans to expand, a move that's expected to create 175 new jobs.
Governor Nikki Haley's office confirmed that JTEKT will expand its Koyo brand facility, doubling the plant's size to 500,000 square feet.
The move represents a $130 million investment, which is expected to generate 175 new jobs over the next three years.
JTEKT opened in Richland County in 1995. The plant makes hub units for car companies, including Toyota, BMW, and General Motors.
Construction will begin in January, with hiring expected to take place later in the year.
