Sumter, SC (WLTX) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that occurred Thursday around 2:05am in Sumter County.
Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock says the driver of the vehicle was a 15-year old boy.
According to officers, the boy was traveling on SC-120 in a 2008 Toyota when he ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and caught fire.
Coroner Bullock says the boy died of blunt force head trauma around 2:11am.
Officials say the driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
