Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The day before the big USC-Clemson game, fans from both sides went shopping in a store divided.
"We go to the games every year but this is the Super Bowl every year," said Clemson fan, Chris Byers.
"It's a very big game," said USC fan Shannon Lindler.
Out of all the games in the football season, the USC - Clemson Game takes center stage.
"This is huge, this is huge," said Lindler.
"We call it the week of hate, so we have been trying to spread hate all this week," said Clemson fan, Rod Lapin.
The rivalry even has some families split down the middle.
"My granddaughter married a big Carolina fan and he is on the other side of the store," said Lapin.
That die-hard Gamecock fan is Randall Gwinn. He and his wife just had a little girl. The jury is still on what school she will support.
"Her mother made her a dress, it is half and half. So we will see what happens," said Gwinn.
For Gamecock fan Shannon Lindler she says you won't find a Clemson fan in her family.
"We have Clemson friends but no family members. We are all smart, we are all Carolina fans," said Lindler.
Chris Byers is a Tiger fan and says he isn't into the war of words before the game.
"They like to trash talk but I just keep my mouth shut and let my team speak for itself. They will all be making excuses on Sunday," said Byers.
Lindler says just looking at Clemson Orange makes her sick.
"I don't like Orange flowers, I don't like Orange anything," said Lindler.
One thing fans do agree on is that it should be a high scoring game.
"31-24 Carolina, said Lindler.
"35-21 Clemson," said Byers.
Now all we can do is wait to see who wins bragging rights for the year.
