Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Thousands of United Healthcare and Cigna customers in our state could soon be paying more for coverage at Lexington Medical Center.
The contract between Lexington Medical and those insurance providers will expire soon.
They are in disputes over rate hikes.
If a deal is not reached before the deadline you will have to pay out of network costs to continue using doctors and other medical services provided at the hospital. The insurance providers have sent out letters to affected customers.
We contacted United Healthcare who says they continue to negotiate with Lexington Medical Center in good faith and are hopeful they will reach a resolution before December 1st.
Cigna says they are willing to continue discussions to reach a mutually-acceptable agreement. Their deadline is December 31st.
If you have questions you can call your provider.
