Lexington, SC (WLTX) - The Lexington County Coroner's office has released the name of the man hit and killed by a train Thursday night.
Coroner Harry Harmon says 22-year-old Phillip A. Stout died when he was hit by a train while walking on the tracks at the intersection of South Lake Drive and Railroad Avenue.
Harmon says Stout was walking in the center of the tracks while wearing headphones and dark-colored clothing. The railroad engineer attempted to stop, but was unsuccessful, hitting him from behind.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and Lexington Police Department.
