Camden, SC (WLTX) -- Kershaw County Sheriff's Deputies and SLED are searching for a man they say shot at an officer during a traffic stop.
Sheriff Matthews says the man who goes by "Ernest Pickett" or "Ernest Allen" has been in and out of jail on drug charges.
Deputies say they got a tip he was in the area.
According to Sheriff Matthews, deputies attempted to pull Ernest over during a traffic stop on Precipice Road in Camden, when he got out of his vehicle and shot at a deputy several times. When the deputy fired back, Ernest fled on foot. Sheriff Matthews says the deputy was not injured.
SLED have been brought in to help find the man.
