Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association has lined up its local chapters to assemble the largest showcase ever for South Carolina Restaurant Week.
Starting today and running through January 20th, Restaurant Week is designed to showcase the culinary scene that South Carolina restaurants and hotels have created, making our state a premiere dining destination for foodies around the country.
Restaurant Week has been expanded this year to include hotels restaurants, and many are offering special rates and packages during the 11 day run.
According to Bobby Williams, President of the Columbia Restaurant Association, the week was established to entice people to go out and try other eateries.
Williams said, "There are many great restaurants in Columbia and you just got to get out and try something new."
"For a small locally owned restaurant 10 customers a day is the difference in being successful and not quite making payroll, 10 extra people is huge help to restaurateurs," according to Williams.
From laid-back casual dining, to some of the nicest fine dining venues, participating restaurants will have special menus, offer promotions, and discounts.
Visit your old favorites, explore some of the state's newest eateries, and try a variety of exceptional dishes offered by chefs state-wide.
