Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police have arrested a couple they say didn't give a 12-year-old girl in their care enough food.
Eugene Coleman, 62, and Joe Ann Coleman, 57, are charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.
Columbia police say a recent visit to the couple's home revealed what was taking place. Investigators say the girl was malnourished and underweight as a result of the couple's unlawful conduct.
The girl was taken into emergency protective custody and is said to be doing well in foster care.
