Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies say a store clerk shot at two suspects, injuring one of them, after one of the men stole beer.
The incident took place Tuesday around 1 a.m. at the Shell Gas station at 7441 Parklane Road.
According to officers, one of the suspects came into the store and took two cases of beer. The employee tried to stop the suspect, but officers say the man continued walking out of the store to a waiting vehicle.
The employee then fired multiple shots at the vehicle, and they say the bullets hit one of the suspects multiple times.
The suspects drove away, but turned themselves over to deputies at a nearby location.
The injured suspect was taken to the hospital with what are described as non life-threatening injuries. He will be charged with shoplifting once he's released.
The other suspect, 50-year-old Clyde Manigo, has been charged with shoplifting and was taken to the Richland County jail.
Deputies are working with the solictor's office to determine if charges will be filed against the employee.
