North Augusta, SC (WLTX) -- Two men identified by law enforcement as brothers Derrick and Deante Darden, both of North Augusta, died following a high speed chase from Augusta, Georgia into South Carolina.
Derrick Darden, 23, was driving a 2007 Chevy Impala when Richmond County, GA Sheriff's Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Broad Street in Augusta. Darden failed to stop for deputies, and a high speed chase ensued, driving into North Augusta, SC.
Darden lost control of the car, striking a tree on Carolina Springs Road in North Augusta.
Deante Darden, 22, was a passenger in the vehicle, and both men were not wearing seat belts and died from multiple body traumas.
An autopsy scheduled for today in Newberry County on both men.
