Swansea, SC (WLTX) -- Lexington County Sheriff's Deputies tell News19 that a student at Swansea High School has been arrested after bringing a flash grenade onto the school campus Friday morning.

Deputies say the flash grenade was not operable.

Flash grenades are non-lethal and produce a bright light and sound that disorient those in the area.

The student arrested is 18-years-old, but that person's name has not yet been released.

News19 has left messages for further details from Lexington School District 4.
