Lexington, SC (WLTX) -- Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed Friday night on US-Highway 321.
Coroner Harman says 56-year old Julius Presley of Gaston was walking north in the middle of the road on the 3700 block of Highway 321 in Gaston when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling north. Presley was pronounced dead on the scene from severe head and body trauma.
According to troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of the vehicle was not injured and no charges are expected to be filed because the pedestrian was walking illegally in the roadway.
This accident is still being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
