Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Columbia Police Department's bomb squad was called out to check three vintage military weapons at a home in the 800 block of Live Oak Street.

A spokesperson with CPD says a man found three devices inside a container in a dumpster Monday morning and brought them back to his home. After looking at the objects, the man decided to call the police.

Police officials tell us these devices were "old military style ordnances."

CPD says the bomb squad is taking the devices to a landfill where they will "properly and safely dispose of them."
