Lexington County, SC (WLTX)-- A man, wearing dark clothing and walking in the roadway, was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night in Lexington County.
The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m. along SC 268 in Chapin.
According to Sergeant Bob Beres with the S.C. Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking eastbound when he was struck by a 1995 Chevy pickup truck, that was also traveling east. The driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman identified the man killed as 57-year-old Jimmy M. Caughman of Little Mountain.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
