Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a woman was injured when she was struck by a car while standing on a downtown Columbia sidewalk.
The incident took place around noon at the corner of Hampton and Assembly Streets.
According to officers, a white car was traveling north on Assembly, while a silver car was traveling east on Hampton. Police say the silver car's driver ran a red light and hit the white car, causing the white car to hit the pedestrian.
The woman sustained an injury to her leg, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the silver car was cited for ignoring the traffic signal.
