Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Lawmakers could shake things up at South Carolina State University.
Representative Bakari Sellers introduced a bill Wednesday that would end the terms of everyone on the school's board of trustees.
"Right now we have to rebuild and restore the trust in South Carolina State. I didn't go to South Carolina State, but it's an institution that I love and that I have a unique bond with and I'm just doing this for the health of the school," said Sellers, a Bamberg County Democrat.
The move would give lawmakers the opportunity to place new people on the board and allow them to ask tough questions of those who choose to seek reappointment their positions.
Sellers says the move will help provide leadership and accountability to the school.
