Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Many showed up Saturday morning at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with their dancing shoes on to help save a local man's life.

Ken Stevenson, 49, of Columbia was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure and pulmonary fibrosis in 2009. His only shot at surviving is if he gets a lung and kidney transplant which costs upwards of a million dollars.

Volunteers with the National Foundation for Transplants organized a Zumbathon to help alleviate some of the financial burden on Stevenson's family.

"Ken wants nothing more than to spend many more years with Jessie, watching their daughters grow up," said Laura Hughes, NFT fundraising consultant. "At NFT, we want to help him do just that. We want to make sure they raise the funds he needs, so he can focus on his health and his family, not the medical bills."
