Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Changing landscapes and development are just a part of a growing population, but there is one area in Columbia that will not see construction trucks.

Richland County's Land Conservation Program announced Tuesday the addition of more acres of land.

The land conservation agreement between Richland County and the developer of the Spring Valley Subdivision was finalized.  The agreement means that the 24-acre tract of land will not be developed and will continue to be part of the County's ecosystem.

The protected land has wetlands, sandhills, pine and hardwood forests.
