United Way, BB&T Helping Some Do Taxes for Free

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The United Way and BB&T bank are teaming up to help you get your taxes done for free.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program offers free tax help to families with a household income of less than $50,000 every year in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield and Newberry counties.

BB&T's mobile banking site will be in the community on Wednesday and Thursday at the following locations.

Wednesday, February 13
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Cecil A. Tillis Center (211 Simpkins Lane, Columbia, SC 29204)

Thursday, February 14
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Transitions Homeless Shelter (2025 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201) 

Volunteers will prepare income taxes and provide free credit reports. 

Participants should bring in a photo ID, Social Security card for all household members and W2s received from an employer.
