Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Gas prices in South Carolina have risen 14 cents in the past month, according to new data provided by AAA Carolinas.
The group says the average cost has gone from $3.21 t o $3.35 a gallon.
The lowest they've been in the last few months was just before Christmas, when the average was $3.02 a gallon.
Gas prices are expected to remain at their current rate through the upcoming Presidents Day weekend.
AAA Carolinas says higher crude oil prices, driven by positive economic news, both domestic and global, caused the rise in gas prices. The group adds that refineries are getting ready to switch to a summer-based gasoline, which restricts output.
