FORT JACKSON, S.C. (AP) - South Carolinians have an invitation to visit Fort Jackson.

Bring Gen. Bryan Roberts is inviting community members to get a close-up look at how soldiers live and train for combat at the Army's largest training installation. The six-hour tour is scheduled for Feb. 21.

People can see how soldiers train in the field, where they "chow down" for meals and how they learn to shoot with an M-16 simulator.

Visitors may also attend soldiers' graduation from basic combat training.

Those interested must reserve a spot by Feb. 14 by calling Fort Jackson Community Relations at 803-751-1474. The cost of lunch is $4.60.
