Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia firefighters have given the all clear after a chemical leak scare at the USC engineering building.
Just after 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to 300 South Main Street in Columbia. The building was evacuated.
Crews were concerned that an unknown chemical may have leaked, but readings taken later showed no hazards.
The 300 Block of South Main and the 1100-1200 block of Catawba Street had to be closed while crews dealt with the situation.
Fire officials say the exact chemical that caused the odor is still undetermined at this time.
