Bishopville, SC (WLTX) - Last week Roy Brown Jr. the creator of the 1957 Edsel died at the age of 96. He was forever known as the creator of the worst car ever made.

Many would say the type of car that a man drives will tell you a lot of what kind of person he is. But one Bishopville man drives a car that's considered to be one of the biggest busts in the history of cars.

"I had a lot of people ask me why did I buy it, I told them I didn't buy it it was traded in," said Jesse Baker.

But for this retired car salesmen he doesn't get the bad rap.

"People always said these cars were a flop, But I always had good results out of it," said Baker.

Barker is one of the only Edsel owners in the state. 50 years ago Ford only sold half of the 200,000 cars they projected to sell.

"It's got plenty of power so it's a good automobile but I don't know why they didn sell I always got good results out of mine."

Most guys give their car a nickname, "No I don't have a nickname for it... I should but I don't."

Just because it doesn't have a name, don't think for one second that he doesn't love his car.

"It's never in the sun or rain its in the shed at all times."

He says his two door, white top Edsel is all metal, has the original motor and even drives like a sports car.

"I know it will run 120MPH. It will run faster than I want to hold it.. Put it that way."

One thing's for sure, the car that Americans would have loved to never own, is a match made in car heaven for Baker.

"I think this is one of my most prized possessions. People will turn their heads and say 'yall its an Edsel,'
