Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A former corrections officer has been arrested on child pornography charges.
William Fitzhugh, 67, is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree.
He was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff's Department as part of the state's internet crimes task force.
The attorney general's office says a Berkeley County investigator determined Fitzhugh downloaded images depicting children engaged in sexual activity. Richland County deputies executed a search warrant and seized a laptop and other computer-related equipment.
Lexington County deputies say Fitzhugh worked as a correctional officer for the Lexington Detetion Center from 2002 to 2005. He then took a civilian position at the jail until 2007, when he resigned.
He was given $25,000 bond.
