Columbia, SC (WLTX) - USC medical students in Columbia found out where they will spend the next several years of their lives Monday.
The "Match Day" ceremony is part of the nationwide tradition where medical students learn where they will be doing the final stage of medical training.
Students put in bids to attend several sites, and they don't know where they have been accepted--or "matched"--until envelopes are opened at the ceremony. It's an important day not just for students, but for the community, since there is a nationwide shortage of doctors.
The parade is an annual event.
