Columbia, SC (WLTX)- The City of Columbia Water Works said the boil water advisory will likely be lifted sometime Sunday.

The following areas in Richland County have been impacted due to the recent water main break: Brookstone Subdivision, Rolling Creek Subdivision, Wescott Ridge Subdivision, Courtyard Subdivision, Ashford Subdivision, and Waterfall Subdivision, bounded by Shady Grove Road, West Shady Grove Road, Broad River Road, and Mount Vernon Church Road.

Water customers in the following areas should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Also, any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure have been advised to do the same until furter notice.

Residents should also throw out any ice made from the contaminated water.

Officials said Saturday that they are still working to fix the problem and hope to have it resolved on Sunday.
