Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A modified lockdown for Richland Northeast High School has been lifted.
Richland Two Spokesperson Ken Blackstone says the school went on the lockdown as a precaution at the suggestion of law enforcement.
Deputies say someone tried to break into a nearby home while the owner was there. The suspect did not steal any items, and ran from the home.
This was the second time Thursday a lockdown as been issued for Richland Northeast. In the morning, a lockdown was in place for 10 minutes as police searched for a burglary suspect near the school.
It's unclear if suspects were arrested in either incident.
