Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies say a suspect accused of robbing a Bojangles here was found in California.
Officers say 17-year-old Maurice Davenport is now in custody charged with armed robbery.
Back on January 26, deputies say Davenport went into the Bojangles at 2423 Broad River Road and pretended to order food. However, officers say he pulled out a handgun, pointed it at an employee, and demanded money.
According to deputies, he then jumped over the counter, stole cash from the register, and left the store.
Investigators say in February, Oakland, California police arrested him during a domestic incident. Police there did a records check and say a gun found in his residence matched one reported stolen in Lexington County. Richland County deputies then say they linked the gun to the Bojangles robbery.
California authorities extradited him to Richland County last week.
